Soups

Soups make the most versatile meal anytime during the day from a simple lunch to a glorious starter leading into a fine dinner main. For me soups are best savoured during the colder days where a hearty soup surely warms up and fill the rumbling tummy.

Over the last few weeks I tried two variety of soups. The Godfather Minestrone Soup from Artisano and Homestyle Country Chicken from The Good Taste Co. Both brands are widely available from any chilled section of the local supermarket.

Artisano's website shared a story about soups are for "Kings". The Godfather Minestrone soup packed with two types of pasta and goodness of nine types of vegetables. The white beans gave the soup additional variety of texture. I shaved some parmigiano reggiano over the soup to add a little more royal treatment to the already rich soup. I chose to mop up the soup with sesame bagel from Abe's Real Bagel.

The Homestyle Country Chicken soup from The Good Taste Co is a traditional chicken soup that typifies a home cooked goodness. The soup has small bite size chicken and mixed vegetables in a creamy textured soup. I added a dash of milk to bring the soup to my preferred consistency. I enjoyed the soup with some warm rosemary and olive oil sour dough from Wild Wheat.

Soups are real comfort food. These ready to eat soups are made for convenience even for people with the most busy lifestyle. With winter around the corner find your favourite soup and stay warm.

Guylian Extra Dark

Guylian the chocolatier brand was founded by Guy and Liliane Foubert in 1960. Guylian was the first to introduce the chocolate sea shells. The Belgium sea shells are filled with roasted hazelnut praline. For me Guylian is the best praline chocolates available in the supermarkets. The 11 different marbled sea shells are just beautiful and I normally spend a few seconds admiring it before popping them inside the mouth.

Are you are fan of dark chocolate? Great news if you love all things dark chocolate. Guylian has the first dark chocolate sea shells with dark hazelnut praline with 74% cocoa from West Africa cocoa beans. One can taste the rich-bitter chocolate balanced with the fine creamy roasted praline.

The marriage of the dark chocolate with the delicious original sea shell pralines is a real success. I'm sure you love them. I sampled the Guylian Extra Dark from the 250g gift box.
